Day 14: Coastal Escape

NOTE: This blog was previously published under the [JESSE 2.0] blog at http://jessetwopointoh.blogspot.com but has been absorbed into Jesse’s main blog for archival purposes. Some text and entries were later censored, indicated by blackouts (███████) out of respect for people involved and my sanity.

I have decided (with a heavy heart) that I am going down to the North Carolina coast as previously planned, without my family. The house-sitters will take care of my cat.

I have been to that beach every year since I was born. It is a █████  █  ████████  ██. To know they won’t be going with me this year just breaks my heart. ████ ██ ████ ███ ██ ███ ████ ██.

████ ██ █ ██ ███████████ ██ ██ █████ ███.  ████ ██ ████ ███ ██ ███ ████ ██. █████  █  ████████  ██. █████ ██ ██ █████ ███.  ████ ██ ███ — ███ ███ ██ ███ ████ ██. █████  █ ██████ ██ ██ █████ ███.  ████ ██ ████ ███ █████  █  ████████. ███ ██ ██ █████ ███.  ████ ██ ████ ███ ██ ███ ████ ██. █████  █  ████████  ██. █████ ██ ██ █████ ███.  ████ ██ ███ — ██ █████ ██ ██ █████ ███.  ████ ██ ████ ███ ██ ███ ████ ██. █████  █  ████████  ██. █████ ██ ██ █████ ███.  ████ ██ ███ — ███ ███ ██ ███ ████ ██. █████  █ ██████ ██ ██ █████ ███.

The days are getting easier and I’ve been very busy over the last week, but this trip will really help, to get away from it all, and to see my mom and other family. I’m close to losing my mind; my first attempt to pay bills ended badly when I later found the stamped water payment in the refrigerator. I’m taking the backroads down to North Carolina because the Interstate holds 10 years of family memories, and we’ll be staying at a different beach house, which will be good. I’ll probably blog some from there but mostly I will be trying to temporarily forget about this whole situation and relax; mostly I will just be posting pictures to Facebook, if you’re interested in seeing my life through my eyes at the coast.

In other news, the ex says that she will be coming to get the rest of her stuff while I’m gone, which I have packed. She has promised not to take anything that wasn’t hers, but for all I know she could take everything, or burn the house to the ground. But what little communication (texting only) I have had with her over the last two weeks has been benign. she’s given no reason for me to think otherwise, outside of just paranoia and horror stories that I have heard this week from fellow divorcés (most of which have made me happy mine’s not worse so far).

I was already losing weight this year before this tragedy, and my weight has steadied out now that I’m eating again. I’m still trying to eat healthy, and will also at the beach (which is a first). I’m still walk/jogging 1 mile every morning and 2-3 in the evenings, I intend to keep that up on vacation as well. This was my best week this year with over 20 miles. All in all, divorce is a great weight loss tool 😐
