This week, more wisdom from the mouth of Facebook. These quotes were posted by some of my hundreds of friends, not intended for me, but which I found powerful, nonetheless.
“Whenever you’ve been touched by love, a heart-print lingers so that you’re always reminded of the feeling of being cared for, knowing that, to someone, you mattered.”
This is a great description of my situation, and the emptiness that I feel after my family left me. This quote is attributed to Oprah. However, Dr. Suess (purportedly) has a solution:
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened!”
How am I doing this week? It’s hard to say. I’m very busy; I’ve sold most of the unneeded furniture in order to pay for the mortgage this month and I’m scrambling to get smaller items ready for a Community Yard Sale which I’m organizing for September 10th-11th.
I guess every day is getting (a little) easier; I still miss my wife and her daughter painfully, but I’m starting to get used to the peaceful serenity of single life, an experience which I had long forgotten about.
