When you count employees, Wal-Mart is number two, with 1,800,000 employees, superseded only by the Chinese Army, who has 2,300,000. They are followed by the Indian State Railways (400,000 less than Wal-Mart), the U.K. National Health Service, and the Minister of Education in France.
