The Battle at Wounded Ego

So the day before yesterday, January 6, 2021, the Capitol Insurrection happened and five people were killed. President Trump, angry that he didn’t win reelection, rallied his followers to breach the Capitol and take into custody and/or murder Vice President Pence, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and others during the counting of the Electoral Votes for Joe Biden.

I was in shock after watching it unfold on CNN, and the country’s future seemed so unsure that I didn’t blog about it until today. It was the craziest thing to happen to our country outside of 9/11. We watched the protesters gather, we watched them smash the windows of the Capitol live. Because of the expected danger, video was not immediately available from what was happening, but as we saw the still photos from inside the Capitol as things grew worse, it became apparent that things were very bad.

I don’t know where our country is headed now — cities across the nation are on high alert for more terrorism, and Joe Biden is scheduled to be sworn in as President of the United States on January 20.
